Victoria Brenes
Director of the Learning Technologies SIG & Doctoral Student
Victoria Brenes is the Director of the Learning Technologies SIG at ATD South Florida, where she founded and leads the AI Workgroup. A doctoral student at Nova Southeastern University, her research explores integrating generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) into the computer science classroom. Her background includes web development and computer science instruction, and she has published research and presented at conferences in the U.S. and abroad.

Q
Tell us about a work project that you’re absolutely crushing and are super proud of right now! Who is supporting you on the project with whom you want to share the spotlight?
A
I am extremely proud to be the lead author of a research project exploring how GenAI can support accessibility in classrooms. I also take great pride in what we have achieved through the AI Workgroup at ATD South Florida and want to give a special shout-out to George Romagosa for his support in advancing this program.

A
ATD South Florida offers opportunities to network and learn at every career stage. Being part of this organization has strengthened my ability to translate theory and research into actionable talent programs.

A
Project-based learning connected to learners’ lives.

What sparks your creativity and gets your energy flowing? Who or what inspires you to reach new heights?
A
Creating opportunities for learners to apply what they’ve learned in real-world contexts and seeing their projects come to life fuels my creativity and commitment to talent growth.

A

When you’re not transforming lives, what do you love doing for fun that brings you joy?
A
I love traveling! I currently live in France and have explored over 60 cities across Europe and South America.
