Positive Intelligence: Building Resiliency and Mental Fitness for Leaders

Effective team leadership begins with strong self-leadership. To lead teams successfully, leaders need a clear understanding of how they respond under pressure, including thought patterns, communication style, triggers, priorities, and stress responses. In today’s high-pressure work environment, demands on leaders continue to rise, and research indicates that 71% of managers consistently feel overwhelmed and stressed.

In this session, we’ll take a deeper look at the Emotional Intelligence (EQ) quadrants of Self-Awareness and Self-Regulation to explore Positive Intelligence (PQ), the mental fitness essential for enhancing well-being, performance, and overall effectiveness. Grounded in EQ and Cognitive Behavioral Psychology, PQ equips leaders to manage their thoughts and stress more effectively.

In this session, participants will:

  • Learn what PQ is and how it enhances self-leadership.
  • Examine the brain’s natural stress response.
  • Reflect on personal stress reactions and identify a “saboteur” (negative stress response).
  • Discover practical strategies for shifting thought patterns and responding in more regulated, constructive ways.
  • Leave with a practical, step-by-step process to better self-regulate and work through challenges and stressors.
