Join us for an exploration of the current state of social media and social learning. We will define the two terms separately, and then examine the unique time period we are in right now, and how technology now serves as an enabler of social learning instead of a barrier.

We will also examine the primary types of social media tools, sharing examples of how they can be used to support learning, and how they can be adapted for the individual cultures of each organization.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the differences between social media and social learning, separating the facts from the hype
  2. Describe the unique opportunity presented by the time we are living in, and the convergence of social media and social learning
  3. Learn about different types of social media tools and how they can be used to support formal and informal learning
  4. Explore and appreciate the changing environment in most organizations, and how L&D must adapt to it
