Flipped Learning 2.0 - An Adaptive AI Approach

How do you create a blended learning experience for diverse audiences that accommodates for cultural differences, varied work experience, and changing learning styles? Flipped learning is a good start, allowing for more personalized learning in the classroom. Now, with adaptive design, we can personalize online learning that increases learner engagement and collects key metrics.

This session introduces the Learner Intelligence Adaptive Design model and how to personalize flipped learning. Start by test driving an adaptive course, then see how it was created. There will be an emphasis on practical techniques you can apply immediately using the free templates provided.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the benefits of the LI Adaptive Design Model

  • Describe how Adaptive Design personalizes flipped learning
  • Categorize learners in your organization
  • Practice how to chunk content for personalized learning
  • Compare at least two approaches to adaptive navigation
  • Apply personalized metrics to flipped classroom activities for superior results
  • Develop an action plan for Personalized Flipped Learning
Presenter:   Domenic Caloia

Domenic Caloia is a Senior Learning Developer at Johnson Controls and a learning strategist. For the past several years Mr. Caloia has been presenting at learning and development conferences on innovative solutions that include Simulating xAPI without a Learning Record Store, Designing for the Millennial Learner, and Adaptive Design for Personalized Learning.

Domenic’s current passion is empowering the learner as online learning becomes increasingly automated. Mr. Caloia has been successfully designing adaptive courses that provide personalized learning experiences to diverse audiences. His unique approach based on Learner Intelligence (LI) does not require AI or any proprietary platform.

Now small teams and individual designers can create adaptive training using popular authoring tools such as Lectora and Storyline. Mr. Caloia’s vision is that AI and LI complement each other for a superior learning environment.
