As a company in the midst of transformation, we positioned talent development at the core of this change through a newly envisioned consistent, streamlined, innovative talent and development systems, initiatives, and processes. Our motto is Development for All providing access to all development opportunities to all teammates across the world as we create a winning culture and team at Cordis ready to innovate inspired by our legacy! 

One of the strategies we are driving is to build organizational and leadership capabilities through a unified strategy. In this session, we will walk you through this exciting journey. You will learn strategies to customize talent experiences and strategies that drive the new culture and mindset needed to align with and achieve the new transformational business strategy and vision. And, you will participate in a World Café activity to learn how to use this collaborative method to build capability and alignment at your organization.

Learning Objectives for the Session:

  • Develop a strategy to ensure that learning and development initiatives are aligned with the organization’s business strategy, focusing on talent and winning culture building, growing the teammate experience, and enhancing teammate engagement and productivity. 

  • Create a framework for measuring the impact of learning and development initiatives on the organization.

  • Utilize the World Cafe methodology to create a collaborative discussion among stakeholders.


  • Selen Turner, Director of Talent and OD at Cordis, SHRM-SCP, ODCP, MBA, is a certified Human Resources executive with expertise in Talent Management, Organizational Development, Learning and DEI combined with a strong business acumen through progressive leadership roles in building talent strategy to accelerate organizational change for Fortune 500 companies. 

    With over 17 years’ experience, Selen currently leads talent, organization development and learning at Cordis after leading MasterCard’s talent, leadership development and global women initiatives that has won Best Talent Management Strategy awards by Ragan 2022.

    Selen is a Past-President for the Association for Talent Development South Florida Chapter leading over 40 volunteers to create best in class conferences and programs. She is currently pursuing her candidate PhD. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology with research emphasis on Workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion targeted to complete in 2024. 

    As part of her vision to create more inclusive and productive workplaces across the globe, Selen speaks regularly at conferences, summits, and events to provide thought leadership to influence practitioners and leaders with research-based proven practices. She serves as a member of Women Leadership of United Way of Miami-Dade County and a proud member of the Advisory Council of FIU, Women of Influence Executive Education Program. Selen resides in Coral Springs, FL with her husband and two loving rescued dogs. 


  • Barbara Potter, Talent and OD Consultant at Cordis, and Owner, Chief Learning Officer of Virtual Training Pros, is an award-winning Learning and Development Consultant with over 15 years of project management experience in producing and marketing large-scale international events, conferences, and training programs. Her expertise is in designing, developing and implementing virtual and software training programs—for novices to seasoned professionals. Barbara was the 2020-2022 VP of Professional Development and is the 2022-2023 VP of Member Services for the Association for Talent Development (ATD), South Florida Chapter. Barbara also has eight years of experience in information technology, including database management, data collaboration, security, data integrity, optimization, benchmarking, and reporting. She has written technical online help systems, technical manuals, marketing copy, press releases, articles, grants, and storyboards. 

    In her free time, Barb enjoys exploring the ocean - snorkeling, scuba diving, paddle boarding, and posting ocean pics on Instagram.
