Understanding Competency Models to Facilitate Development

Meeting Objectives:

 - Participate in an overview of competency models

 - Learn how competency models can drive 360 assessments

 - Link competency models to individual development plans

 - Learn how competency models link to learning needs analysis

Meeting Overview:

Get involved in a hands-on, interactive overview of competency models.

Learn how competency models can drive 360 assessments, through a quick overview of the basic 360 philosophy and how-to's.  You will receive an example of competency-based 360 items and practice creating 360 items for a specific competency.

Link competency models to individual development guides.  You will get to see examples of competency-based development guides and create a development guide for a specific competency.

Competency models (and their 360s) reflect what an organization wants people to be able to do.  Organizational competencies often become the default targets of several training initiatives.  As a Workplace Learning and Performance professional, learn how the aggretated 360 results (based on a competency model) become a training needs analysis, and can be effective at local levels.
