The Learning That LastsBook Study Series is a two-month interactive experience designed for talent development professionals who want to increase learner engagement, retention, and real-world application. Together we will explore practical reflection strategies, discuss implementation challenges, and leave with immediately usable activities that elevate our programs from "great session" to "lasting impact",

You won't just talk about the book. You'll actively select, test, and refine activities you can use in your own facilitation, instructional design, leadership development, or onboarding programs.

To prepare for our July 22nd session, choose activities from chapters 7-10 that you could immediately apply in your own work. Come prepared to discuss which strategies feel most practical and where you anticipate learner resistance. Think about how your might adapt the activities for virtual, hybrid, or in-person delivery.

Organizations invest heavily in leadership development - yet many still struggle to see consistent behavior change in the moments that matter most: coaching conversations, performance feedback, and team accountability. This session explores the gap between leadership knowledge and actual behavior, and why traditional development approaches often fail to translate into performance. Jared Forman, MA, CPTD, is the founder of AdaptIncrease and a learning and performance strategist focused on helping organizations strengthen leadership effectiveness and improve real-world execution.

His work centers on a challenge many organizations face: people often know what to do but struggle to apply it consistently in high-stakes moments such as coaching conversations, performance feedback, and accountability discussions.

Drawing on experience across leadership development, instructional technology, performance improvement, and workforce capability, Jared helps organizations move beyond training participation toward practical behavior change and performance outcomes.

Jared holds a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Nova Southeastern University and is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD). He is also a recipient of the 2019 Champions of Learning Gold Award.

Most organizations already have the knowledge their people need, in documents, recordings, and the experience of their experts. The hard part is turning that knowledge into skills people actually use on the job. In this hands-on session, we'll do exactly that: starting from your own material, you'll create a working AI role-play or AI coaching simulation through a simple, chat-based process, no manual scenario authoring and no course-building. You'll leave having built something you can use.

What you'll be able to do by the end:

By the end of the session, every attendee will be able to create their own AI role-play or coaching simulation based on a real use case.

Carbone, the founder of Mindset Effect Consulting, brings nearly three decades of life sciences and various commercial experiences spanning consulting, field sales, leadership, operations, marketing, and learning and development. He has partnered with numerous Fortune 100 life sciences organizations, including Johnson & Johnson, Takeda, Alora, Novartis, arginx, Otsuka, and Ionis Pharmaceuticals, where he leveraged his deep expertise to author multiple publications grounded in real‑world practice.

He is the author of The RISE (Rare Disease) Selling Framework 2^nd edition, a guide designed for individual contributors in commercial rare disease roles. In 2024, Carbone introduced The RISE (Rare Disease) Leadership Framework, a book he wrote for first‑line leaders and learning and development professionals navigating the complexities of rare disease commercialization. Both books draw directly from his hands‑on experience in rare disease sales, leadership, and professional development.

Additionally, in 2026, he published Rockin' Presentation Skills, a book for experienced presenters/facilitators who desire to elevate this critical professional set of skills. The last chapter of this book is the foundation of this workshop.
